Can You Guess Which Singer Has Just Launched A Suncare Line That You Will Certainly Feel Happy About?

Rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and all round cultural entrepreneur, Pharrell Williams and his brand, Humanrace, debut his new earth-loving mineral Suncare line… and we couldn’t be happier.

Dropping on July 14th, the launch comprises of two must-have sunscreens, The Ozone Face Protection Daily Moisturiser and Ozone Body Protection Cream. Both SPF30, these broad-spectrum, mineral-based formulas have been developed through the company’s high skincare standards, putting quality and user experience at its heart – what we like to hear! This important environmental and safety factor means that you can achieve the same protection as a chemical sunscreen, however, mineral-based formulas are both safer for you and for our oceans.

Crafted from the company’s signature Snow Mushroom Extract, the Ozone Face Protection Daily Moisturiser works to hydrate and protect the skin whilst also multi-tasking to provide Blue Light Protection – helping to stop the damaging effects screens have on our skin. Also developed from the same extract, and combined with Squalane, The Ozone Body Protection Cream offers a water-resistant sunscreen that moisturises and protects the skin.

Discussing the importance of sunscreen and encouraging all skin tones to wear SPF daily, Williams said: “Our Earth’s Ozone layer naturally protects us from harmful UV radiation from the sun, but we still need to protect ourselves daily from the UV rays that get through. We believe there is room under the sun for everyone, and we all need to be wearing sunscreen daily.”

What’s more, this suncare line has been developed with Pharrell’s Dermatologist of over 20 years, Dr Elena Jones, MD, so you know its SPF that you can trust. As a brand, Humanrace aims to address the misconceptions about sunscreen use for people of colour, and the importance of applying SPF regularly for all skin types: “The biggest misconception is that deeper skin tones don’t need sunscreen, but no matter what colour your skin is, all skin tones need a daily sunscreen, rain or shine. I have patients every day asking what they should be doing to care for their skin, the easiest thing to do is start wearing sunscreen daily” said Dr Jones.

Sticking true to the ethos of Humanrace design and innovation, the suncare line continues the brand’s commitment to accessible and responsible products. Whilst distinct custom-shaped packaging is made from over 50% recycled landfill plastic, we’re also introduced to a new vibrant orange colourway and refillable product containers – to encourage customers to reduce the waste of single-use plastics. If you thought it couldn’t get any better, the formulas are all vegan, cruelty-free and fragrance-free!

Be sure to set those alarms for the 14th of July, as we can sense this is already going to be a big hit this summer!
