Beauty Brands You Need To Know About in 2021

With the new year comes the reset button and whilst we can’t reset everything, it’s the perfect time to refresh your beauty cupboard! And if you have been looking to upgrade your face cream or try out some new body products, it’s a great time to discover new brands.   I’m lucky enough to get the opportunity to try out lots of different products at FROW and recently, I have found 7 fabulous brands that I absolutely adore and excited to share with you. Each brand has a story of how they were born and what was their inspiration. I selected a mixture of bodycare, hair and makeup brands that were started with a passion for beauty and self-care.

British beauty brand CELF was created by Jamaican-born and London raised Coline Benjamin. With a passion for hair, Coline wanted to create a collection of products that revitalises your hair. I have been using their Moisture Set (£30) it’s really gentle and having coloured and dry hair, I found quinoa protein really helped to rehydrate, repair and restore the shine in my hair.

Kalmar, founded by Moroccan born Karen Ruimy, is a holistic wellbeing brand centred around joy, calm, peace and love. They have a range of body products, that help to realign the mind, body and soul. One of my favourites is the Calm Deep Cocoon Shower Cream (£30). It has a velvety, powdery scent of iris and lavender, which feels like it washes away all stresses of the day, leaving your skin smelling divine!

Inspired by the Nordic region landscape, Skandinavisk is a vegan brand based in Denmark. Their collection of bodycare and home scents are made using ethically sourced organic and natural ingredients. One of my favourite two products from the range is the FJORD Hand Wash (£25) and Hand Cream (£20). The wash is infused with apple, pear blossom, orchard fruits and Danish spring water and it cleanses and moisturises without drying your hands. The hand cream is light but rich and absorbs into the skin without feeling greasy. It’s a wonderful cream to protect your hands, especially in the Winter months.

With roots in both England and Egypt, Khali Min is an independent, female-owned brand. With a ‘free from’ ethos, they avoid unnecessary additives and synthetics in their products. The Clean Cream (£25) is a lightweight formula with rosehip oil, perfect for dull and fine hair. It made my hair feel hydrated and easier to detangle. It also protects the hair against dryness and breakage.  Another great thing about Khali Min is their packaging materials are recyclable or compostable.

Mudd Beauty is a British Makeup Brand with a range of organic, cruelty free and high colour pigmented eye and lip products.  The products contain botanicals and natural oils with no toxic ingredients. The Matte Liquid Lipstick in Lotus (£10.99) is from a gorgeous collection of lipsticks. It kept my lips hydrated and found the colour long lasting, leaving a perfect matte finish.

As a child Sonal Keay suffered from a rare skin condition and the only material that would soothe her skin was silk! Fast forward to 2017 and with some life changing events, Sonal launched This is Silk, creating a beautiful collection of award-winning pillowcases, hair wraps, eye and face masks. My sleep must-have is their Silk Eye Mask in Spirit Animal (£28.99) made with pure mulberry, its anti-ageing and the silk doesn’t absorb any eye cream and protects my eye area, whilst keeping the light out and giving you a peaceful night’s sleep.

With a passion for skincare, MasterChef Finalist Angela Langford created her own range of natural and organic skincare recipes. The award-winning range is all hand-made by Angela in small batches at her home lab in Somerset. One of her best loved products is the Bloom & Glow (£20.50) it’s perfect for sensitive skin, the oil calms inflammation and balances the skin leaving it radiant and glowing.
