UK Rapper & Influencer Launch 99% Naturally Derived Baby Skincare Range

Say hello to Nala’s Baby, a brand new naturally derived baby’s skincare brand founded by none other than UK rapper and broadcaster, Casyo ‘Krept’ Johnson and his co-parent, influencer Sasha Ellese Gilbert.

Launching in over 400 Boots stores across the country, the Black-owned, British-made brand has developed a line of affordable products inclusively designed for all skin types. With an essential range for newborns and upwards, consisting of Body Wash & Shampoo, Bubble Bath, Conditioner, Body Lotion, Nighttime Oil and Body Butter, Nala’s Baby champions natural skincare with 99% naturally derived ingredients. Hero ingredients include oats, coconut, hibiscus, Vitamin E, camomile, shea, aloe and lavender (just to name a few!). If you thought that the products couldn’t get any better, they are also all dermatologist and paediatrician approved, cruelty-free, vegan, eczema-friendly, tear-free, fully recyclable and made in Britain – phew that was a lot but what’s not to love?

Going that extra mile, the parents have integrated educational technology into each product via a scannable QR code, designed to help other parents distract their children when they are having nappies changed or lotion applied (because who doesn’t want a happy baby right?) Bringing a whole new interactive world to your child’s surroundings, the experience takes children on a journey through the jungle, meeting Nala’s animal friends who explain the benefits of natural ingredients on the skin!

When pregnant with Nala, now aged two, Sasha became concerned about the potential harm skincare could cause her baby, leading her to download the product rating app ‘Think Dirty’ to research the best attainable zero-rated products. After the pair discovered the amount of potentially harmful ingredients included in mother and baby products, Nala’s Baby was born. The brand’s products have been vetted, with products featuring a perfect zero rating by Think Dirty.

Reflecting on the launch of Nala’s Baby, Krept and Sasha discussed the importance of using natural ingredients within children’s skincare: “Accessibility to natural products that protect our children was a crucial part of development for us. With this in mind, Nala’s Baby has been designed to truly cater for all skin types, with pricing that is competitive in the natural skincare market, all supported by a campaign that represents society.”
